AB-45 Update

Update: On August 26, 2021, California’s Assembly Bill AB-45 (Aguiar-Curry) moved forward out of the Senate suspense file by unanimous vote. The bill is now on the Senate floor where various amendments to the bill are being considered. Based on our discussions with legislators, the details of those amendments will not be made publicly available at this time. However, any proposed amendments would need to be completed and approved by both the Senate and the Assembly by September 10th. Therefore, it is critical for all of us to continue to voice our concerns to our representatives, both Senators and Assemblymembers, through letters and phone calls.
